What we actually do

Same jobs as any UK mobile tyre and recovery outfit. Different words, because this van is this van.

• A tyre changeThe old one off, the new one on, torque it, done. At the kerb, on a driveway, or wherever the car is sitting.
• A hole in the treadNail, screw, slow hiss. If it is in the tread and the tyre is worth saving, we repair it. If it is in the sidewall, it is a change.
• Hard shoulderA12, M11, A13, A127 — the fast roads east of Loughton. Hazards on, sit tight, we come to the vehicle.
• Locking nutsKey in the glovebox, or not. We come with the kit either way.
• Run-flatsBMW, Mini, and the rest of the cars that were sold with them. They still go down. They still need changing at the roadside.
• VansTransits, Sprinters, Crafters, the Luton you should not have taken down a Debden side street. Dual fitment, commercial load ratings.
• On the drivewayHome, work car park, industrial estate, the bay behind the shop. If the van can stand next to the wheel, we can work.
• When it will not rollRecovery. Not a tyre job. The vehicle has to be moved, so we move it.
• After the bangAccident work. Alloys smashed, tyres off the rim, the car pointing the wrong way on a slip road.
• Wrong pumpPetrol in a diesel, or the other way round. Do not start it. Ring before you turn the key.
• Two wheelsMotorbike recovery. Dropped it, refused to start, or a puncture you should not ride on.
• No crankJump start. Dead battery, lights that were left on, a car that has sat for a fortnight in a station car park.
