A hole in the tread
Nail, screw, slow hiss. If it is in the tread and the tyre is worth saving, we repair it. If it is in the sidewall, it is a change.
A nail in the tread is boring, which is good. We take the wheel off, find the hole, repair it properly, and put it back on. It takes longer than people think because doing it on the car is how you get a comeback.
Sidewall damage is not a repair. Neither is a hole too close to the shoulder. We will say that straight rather than glue something that will fail on the A12.
If you have been driving on it flat, the tyre may already be finished even if the hole looks small. We look before we promise.
