Chigwell looks like Essex countryside until you notice Grange Hill station. Chigwell Row and Hainault Forest Country Park are the actual edge: mansions, golf, and a country park that still takes a van if you know the entrance.
Route notes
A113 from Loughton is the honest road. Grange Hill is Central line and school-run traffic; do not ask us to 'just wait on the Broadway'. The country park has real gates and real closing times. If you are on a private road in Chigwell, say so — some of them are not adopted and the surface will tell us before you do.
