Whitechapel Road is a corridor. The side streets are the job. Aldgate East, Brick Lane, Spitalfields, Stepney, Shadwell, Shoreditch's eastern edge, Queen Mary, the Royal London — E1 is a lot of London in one outward code.
Route notes
A11 in, or the A13 if we came along the river. The Royal London has a car park process; we follow it. Brick Lane on a Sunday is not a place we try to occupy. Shoreditch (the E1 sliver) is the same as the rest of it: cameras, closures, a loading bay if you are lucky. Tell us a hospital, a station, or a street — not 'Whitechapel' as if it were a village green.
