Clapton is a ridge. The marshes are at the bottom. Upper Clapton, Lower Clapton, Hackney Downs and Springfield Park are the same slope with different bus stops.
Route notes
A104 or through Walthamstow. Clapton Common and the ridge roads are doable. The marshes side is parkland and car parks that close. Springfield Park is a real park with a real gate. Hackney Downs station is small. If you rolled it onto the marshes towpath, we need to talk — that is not a road.
