Great Dunmow is the town on the old A120. Thaxted is the other town, with a steeple you can see from a long way off. The Rodings, Felsted, Stebbing, Broxted and the Eastons fill the rest.
Route notes
A120 east off the M11, or the B184 north out of Ongar. Dunmow high street is a high street. Thaxted is a hill and a narrow pinch. Felsted has a school and the traffic that comes with it. The Rodings are a chain of villages; 'the Rodings' is not a pin — White, Leaden, High, they each have a green. This is a standard-to-far run from Loughton. We come. We do not live there.
