Great Dunmow is the town on the old A120. Thaxted is the other town, with a steeple you can see from a long way off. The Rodings, Felsted, Stebbing, Broxted and the Eastons fill the rest.
Route notes
A120 from the M11, or A130 from Chelmsford. Dunmow high street is a high street. Thaxted is a hill and a narrow pinch. Felsted has a school and the traffic that comes with it. The Rodings are a chain of villages; 'the Rodings' is not a pin — White, Leaden, High, they each have a green. This is a standard-to-far run from Loughton. We come. We do not live there.
