Far from the yard

SS9

Leigh-on-Sea still has Old Leigh, which is cobbles and cockle sheds. Belfairs, Eastwood and Two Tree Island are the rest. The Broadway is the town. The cobbles are the postcard. They are not the same surface.

Route notes

A13 or A127 then south. Old Leigh is a poor place to jack a car when the tide of people is in. The Broadway has side streets. Belfairs is woods and a golf club. Two Tree Island is a car park and a nature reserve — the surface is the point. Eastwood is the A127 side, not the water. Say Old Leigh only if you mean the cobbles.
