Hockley is the town in the woods. Hawkwell is the shoulder. Hullbridge is the one on the Crouch with a river and a caravan park.
Route notes
A127 then north through Rayleigh, or through Rochford. Hockley station is the line through the woods. Hullbridge is a dead-end if you miss the point of it — the river is the point. Hawkwell is residential. Three names. Say which. We will not treat Hullbridge as a suburb of Hockley when the last mile is a river road.
