Route notes
A12 to Kelvedon / Tiptree, or through Colchester to the island road. The Strood to Mersea is the tide. If the water is up, we wait; we do not invent a hovercraft. Tiptree is a factory village with a jam works and a high street. Abberton Reservoir has a visitor centre. Layer Marney has a tower. Tell us island, Tiptree, or reservoir. Those last miles do not share a bus.
