Colchester Garrison is still a garrison. Shrub End, Berechurch, Old Heath, Birch, Layer de la Haye and Layer Breton sit around the military land and the southern approaches.
Route notes
A12 then the southern distributor, or through the town if we must. The garrison has gates and rules; we need the right one. Layer de la Haye is a village toward the reservoir. Old Heath is the Hythe-adjacent housing. If you are on camp, say camp. If you are in a village, say the village. 'South Colchester' is not a pin.
